Exolon Group keeps a clean sheet: Natural lighting with polycarbonate roofing for the Wildparkstadion in Karlsruhe

Modernizations for the Wildparkstadion in Karlsruhe, Germany are well underway. Estimated to be completed in February 2022, the new football stadium will able to host 34,000 fans.

Exolon Group may not be scoring any goals for Karlsruhe SC, but they have contributed by means of robust polycarbonate sheets for the roofing over the stadium’s east wing.

The east wing of Karlsruhe SC’s newly renovated Wildparkstadion will feature a steel construction extending over the field and lined with transparent polycarbonate sheets from Exolon Group. Special multiwall sheets were developed just for this roofing project: Exolon Multi UV 3/16-16 with an additional layer of UV protection. The newly laid roof spans a surface area of 2,223 m².

Our quality guarantee: 20 years in top condition, twice the lifespan required by international standards. These massive,  high impact polycarbonate sheets will reliably protect football fans from rain, snow, and hail. The only precipitation fans will need to contend with are tears: either due to a glorious victory or a bitter loss.

Making the most of the daylight: polycarbonate sheets that maximize natural light and safety

A clear view of the playing field is ensured by means of transparent roofing sheets from Exolon Group that provide plenty of natural light. With high formability, the polycarbonate multiwall sheets could even be shaped on-site and built directly into the roofing construction. These high-quality sheets fulfill the essential fire safety classification and holds a B-s1-d0 certification in accordance with European Norm EN 13501-1, “forms no burning droplets.”

Exolon Group is proud to have contributed to the realisation of this distinctive new football mecca. Our innovative roofing products provided a suitable solution to the requirements of this ambitious technical and creative project. We look forward to watching some exciting football matches beneath them soon!
